The babies are coming...

Our infant room will finally open May 3, 2010 and we couldn't be more thrilled that the babies are coming. Here at iKids we have a countdown going and the kids keep chanting that phrase, even our little two year olds, like Benjamin who is pictured here, are excited to be the big kids on campus. Today we went into the infant room and checked out every area. We teach the kids that they have a responsibility to care for and protect kids younger than them. They can be very vigilant in this responsibility and even question the teachers and check up on them to make sure they are watching carefully. They checked the changing area and the cribs making sure that we had everything we needed and that it would be a safe environment for their babies. New life is such a beautiful and fragile thing and even preschoolers recognize that. They can't wait to teach the babies everything they know and help them on their iKids journey.
Our rebirth into God's family is a beautiful thing. As Christians we should be just as excited about lost souls accepting Christ and chant the babies are coming. 1 Peter 2:1-3 "So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness." Look for opportunities to disciple new Christians and help them on their journey. Be vigilant in your care of them and look out for pitfalls and dangers remembering that a new life can be fragile.

A funny side note: I walked in to the daycare room to give one of the teachers a message and a man walked in with a baby. The room went silent for a second and then one kid shouted THE BABIES ARE HERE! Approximately 15 kids ran straight at this man with their arms reaching up toward the baby. Luckily, he loved it and thought that it was so neat that the kids were so excited to get their babies. However, I think that it would be a good idea this morning to tell the kids to not charge at parents with babies, we don't want to scare them off.
